Grums is a fictional coffee and tea brand created as part of a branding and identity project. As part of the project, I developed a generator that creates packaging designs based on the characteristics of each product.
Flavour-driven generator
The generator uses sweetness, fruitiness, and steeping time to generate patterns for the packaging.
Different combinations of values produce different visual outcomes, creating packaging designs that reflect the characteristics of each tea.
So rather than applying the identity afterwards, the visual system is built directly into the design process through the generator.
From idea to identity
The project started with research, sketching, and concept development, which informed both the visual identity and the generator.
Visual identity
The visual identity guide below documents the complete design system developed for Grums, including typography, colour, and the generative patterns used across the brand.
Solo project.
